Catherine I. Fewell, 87, formerly of Bennetts Switch, passed away 12:25 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, at Caring Hands Health Campus in Peru. She was born July 14, 1921, in Milan to Edward and Idella (Livingston) Haase. In February of 1940, in Milan, she married Everett Fewell. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1985.

Catherine was a sales associate in retail clothing working for Carl Ann and Wasson’s in Kokomo. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Kokomo and Order of the Eastern Star 375 Royal Center. She enjoyed painting.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Tamara Fewell, Amboy; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Dennis Lake, Peru; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two foster great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Everett),three brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church, 3401 S. Dixon Road, with Pastor Mark Sloss officiating. Burial is in Galveston Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Murray Weaver Funeral Home Galveston Chapel, 401 S. California St., Galveston. Eastern Star services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, Kokomo.
