Cree, 68, Kokomo, formerly of Galveston, passed away at 12:50 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, at St. Joseph Hospital Emergency Room, Kokomo. He
was born March 30, 1940, the son of James W. and Eva E. (Fawbush) Cree. He was never married. He was a machine operator for Haynes International in Kokomo. He was a member of Steelworkers Local #2958; a life member of the Sheriff’s Association of Howard County, a member of the Moose Lodge in Logansport. He graduated from Galveston High School. Surviving are his mother, Eva Cree, Kokomo; brothers, Franklin E. and Donna J. Cree, Galveston, and Chester A. and Linda E. Cree, Galveston; a sister, Linda J. and Dave Stellfox, Prospect, Pa.; an aunt, Helen Freeman, Kokomo; caregiver, Lora Correll, Kokomo; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at Murray Weaver Funeral Home, 401 S. California St., Galveston. The Rev. Warren Purcell will officiate. Burial will be in Galveston Cemetery, Galveston. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital.
