Lisle R. Morris, 89, Galveston, passed away at 10:05 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, at Waterford Place Health Campus in Kokomo. Born Aug. 13, 1919, in Monticello, Ky., he was the son of Peter and Eliza (Lair) Morris. On June 27, 1941, in Tennessee, he married Claudia Morris, who survives.

Mr. Morris retired from the Air Force in 1961 after serving in World War II and Korea. He later worked for Montgomery Wards in Kokomo, retiring with 20 years service.

He was a member and deacon at First Christian Church, Kokomo.

Surviving along with devoted wife of 67 years, Claudia Morris, Galveston, are daughters, Patricia and husband Richard Hamilton, Galveston, and Marsha and husband Richard Miller, Kokomo; six grandchildren, Michelle and William Harris, Kokomo, Cinda and Steven Morse, China, Kristen and Matthew Bilkey, Kokomo, Heather and Ken Diaz, Galveston, Melainie and Matt Hardin, Galveston, Megan and Walter Bennett, Pierson; 17 great-grandchildren, Drew, Will and Ben Harris, Kokomo, Garrett, Jessica, Blake and Jade Morse, China, Kate and Jack Bilkey, Kokomo, Jordan, Cameron, Brynna and Hallie Diez, Galveston, Cody, Brooke and Maison Hardin, Galveston, Cale Bennett, Pierson.

Lisle’s legacy is a marriage of 67 years to his loving wife, Claudia; his two daughters, his seven grandchildren and his 17 great-grandchildren, they were, indeed, the joy of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Heath Hamilton; and a brother, Alonzo Morris.

Services are 4:30 p.m. Monday at First Christian Church at the corner of West Sycamore and Malfalfa (300 West), Kokomo. The Rev. Will Jewsbury will officiate. Burial will be in Galveston Cemetery, Galveston, with military honors graveside. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church Tower Chime Fund.
