Rosida Reed, 81, Cedar Park, Texas, formerly of Galveston, Indiana, went home to be with her Lord at 4:35 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008 at the home of her daughter in Texas.  She was born October 15, 1927 in Mexico, Indiana to Lafayette and Rebecca (Eikenberry) Shoemaker.  On September 18, 1949 in Denver, Indiana, she married Richard E. Reed, and he preceded her in death March 28, 2005.

She was a homemaker and worked at McDonald's retiring in 1997.  She was a member of Bon Air Nazarene Church in Kokomo.  She was a member of Gideons International for 39 years and a founding member of the First Brethren Church in Kokomo.   She enjoyed fellowship with her Church family and gardening.

She is survived by two sons, Kent R. and wife Cindy Reed, Galveston; Jack L. and wife Christie Reed, Kokomo; one daughter, Jill and husband John Daugherty, Cedar Park, TX; a foreign exchange son, Leo and wife Amy Moron, Caracas, Venezuela. 15 grandchildren, Jackie Huffer, Jeremy Reed, Tyler Reed, Delton Reed, Kaysey Reed, Rebecca Reed, Nick Reed, Amy Reed, Janson Golightly, Darian Golightly, Justin Engel, Janel Engel, Elizabeth Daugherty, Karen Moron and Arianna Moron. 4 great grandchildren, Willaim, Austyn and Devon Huffer and Jaden Manriquez.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Richard) and brother (Herman)  Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 15th at Bon Air Nazarene Church in Kokomo with the Rev. Dennis Riggs officiating.  Burial will follow at Ever Rest Memorial Park Cemetery in Logansport.  Friends may call Friday, November 14th from 4 - 8 p.m. at Murray Weaver Funeral Home Galveston Chapel, 401 S. California St., Galveston.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International.  Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
