Billy T. Maze, 77, of Galveston, passed away at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Aperion Care in Kokomo. He was born July 8, 1941 in Jefferson City, Missouri to Jesse Lee and Joan Cynthia (Luttrell) Maze.
Billy was a custodian for Galveston Elementary School and crossing guard for 33 years for the Town of Galveston, retiring in 2010. Billy always had a smile on his face and a kind word for the teachers and students he worked with. He was a beloved friend to all who knew him.
Surviving family include his daughters, Penny Maze of Peru; Jennifer Maze of Pleasanton, Kansas, and two step daughters, Christi Shuck and Reed Kimberli Shuck. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Carlie Beck, Kali Russell, Tessa Maze, Thomas Maze, Brianna Maze, William Rist, Billy Maze, Karen Shell and Michael Maze and a special friend Cindy Leduc. He is preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Gwynn Maze.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18th at the Galveston Cemetery with Pastor Bill Collins officiating. In keeping with Billy’s wishes, no public visitation is planned.
