Elmo C. Reed, 90, of Greentown, passed away at 2:50 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Kindred Health and Rehab in Kokomo.  He was born September 19, 1926 in Howell County, MO to Clarence and Jessie ( Reeves ) Reed.

On June 23, 1946 in White Plaines, MO he married Ersalee A. Butler.   The minister officiating the ceremony was Elmo’s Grandfather.   Elmo was raised a hard-shell Baptist.  He loved fishing and served his country in the Army 1945 – 1947 in the Philippines.

Elmo retired from Haynes International in Kokomo in 1986 with 42 years service.

Surviving family include his three sons, Ron Reed, Peru, IN; Larry Reed, Smithville, TN; and Mark (Paula) Reed, Greentown.  Nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild as well as a sister, Pansy Crites of Greentown also survive him.   He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ersalee,  and two sisters.    Private family services will be held at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be sent to the Greentown Wesleyan Church, 120 N.
