Gary L. Thomas, 61, of Greentown, unexpectedly passed away on October 15, 2016.  He was born May 25, 1955 in Kokomo, Indiana to Robert and Elsie Mae Thomas of Galveston.

Gary was a 1973 graduate of Lewis Cass High School.  He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, where he achieved the rank Eagle Scout.  He attended Purdue University prior to beginning his career with Chrysler Corp.  During his 40 years with Chrysler, he completed the Apprenticeship program and became an electrician.  He was also a member of U.A.W. #685.

He has been described as loyal, dedicated, kind hearted and the most hard working man most ever had known.  He will forever be missed by all who loved him.  Gary enjoyed camping, racing stock cars and working on vehicles and riding motorcycles.  He enjoyed racing and was a die hard “Gordan” fan.

Gary leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Cindy Thomas of Greentown; his daughters, Tara Thomas Apellido, Killean, TX; Jennifer Thomas, Springfield, MO; step children, Tim Campbell, Clarksville, TN; Thomas Bosquez of Bryan TX; Phillip Wyatt, Greentown; Josh Wyatt, Wabash; and Shiyanna Dill of Crystal River, FL.  Surviving grandchildren include, Lexxus Apellido, Keely Apellido, Jadden Apellido, EJ Valdez, Alainah Campbell, Blake Campbell, Brooklynn Bosquez and Gavin Bosquez.   He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Elsie Thomas and one brother Frank Thomas.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 20th at Murray Weaver Funeral Home In Galveston.  Visitation will be held from 4 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 19th also at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be sent to Gary’s family at  www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
