Kathaleen “Kathy” Mae (Morris) Wininger 95, Kokomo passed away at her residence with family at bedside on Friday November 4, 2016 at 3:50 AM.  Born June 30, 1921 in Collinwood, TN daughter of Jesse and Lula (Fraley) Morris.  Kathy had one brother, William “Bill” Morris.  Kathy married John Henry Wininger on August 20, 1939.  Together they had four children:  Jerry L. Wininger Sr. , Judith A. Hite, John M. Wininger, and Sandra J. (Wininger) Murphy.  Kathy loved to craft plastic canvas, play Bingo, and go to the Casino’s.  She worked at the Galveston Post Office for 12 ½ yrs. Kathy then went on to be a cook at Grissom Airforce Base for another 12 ½ yrs.  She retired at the age of 58 yrs.  Survivors include: daughter Joan (Sandra) Murphy Kokomo, 11 grandchildren, Terry (Denise) Murphy, Georganna (Larry) King, Cathy (Brian) May, Ashley Melton, Devonya LeAnn (Doug) Collins-Shuck, Rick (Misty) Wininger, Jerry L. (Christina) Wininger Jr., Ron Wininger, John (Missy) Wininger, David Hite, and Melissa (Michael) Pagley.  15 Great Grandchildren, 11 Great-Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, two sons, one daughter, and one great grandson.  Kathy’s caretakers were daughter Joan Murphy, Daughter-in- Law Sharon Wininger, with the help of Grand Daughter’s Melissa Pagley, Ashley Melton, Cathy May, and Georganna King.  

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Pastor Steven Sherwood officiating.  Burial will follow at Galveston Cemetery.  Family and Friends may visit on Monday November 7, 2016 from 4:00 PM- 8:00 PM at the funeral home in Galveston.  Special thank you to Southern Care Hospice for the help and care given to Kathy during this time.  We also want to thank Dr. Lance Washington for his unconditional care.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
