December 3, 1944 ~ April 30, 2017 (age 72) 72 Years Old

Michael L. Dutchess, 72, of Walton, passed away at 4:48 p.m. Sunday, April 30th at St. Vincent Heart Hospital in Indianapolis.  He was born December 3, 1944 in Walton, Indiana to Meredith and Anna (Cunningham) Dutchess.   He married Carol S. Ingram on April 18, 1999 in Lucerne, Indiana and she survives.  Mike was a deliveryman for Tenbook Sales in Kokomo for several years; he later worked for TM Morris.    Mike never met a stranger and enjoyed serving on the Walton Public Library Board.  He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the White Sox and the Indiana Pacers play.  He loved fishing, camping and eating popcorn.  The most important part of Mike’s life was the time spent with his family.

Surviving family include his wife Carol Dutchess of Walton; sons, Barry (Kim) Dutchess, Eric G. Dutchess and Ryan Dutchess all of Florida.  Step Sons, Dustin Ingram, Mike Chenoweth and Greg Chenoweth; grandchildren, Alex, Kayla, Kasie, Emma, Meredith, Matthew, Cayde, Parker an Sophia; great grandchildren, Cambree, Delilah, Lincoln and Alex Jr.; siblings, Marilyn Cook and Pete Dutchess.   He was preceded in death by his parents, step daughter, Dawn Rush and siblings, Don Dutchess, MJ Dutchess, Paul Dutchess and Martha “Gus” Sholty.

There will be a celebration of Mike’s life at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 6th at Walton Christian Church in Walton with Rev. Bill Collins and Pastor Marc Clarke officiating.  A time of visitation with Mike’s family will take place from 1:00 pm until time of services at 3:00 pm.     Memorial contributions may be given to the Walton Public Library in his honor.  Friends and family may leave a condolence to his family at www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
