Nancy Gaylor Obituary

Nancy R. Gaylor, 81, of Walton, went home to be with the Lord early Saturday morning, April 21st at Winter Haven Hospital in Florida.  She was born August 9, 1936 in Tippecanoe Co. Indiana to James and Edythe Bull.   She married John D. Gaylor on November 8, 1953 in Mulberry, Indiana and he survives.

Nancy retired from Banking with the Cass County State Bank, which later became Salin Bank in Walton.  She was a member of the Shiloh Lutheran Church where she was very active.  She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Co-Owner of the original Dog Shed in Walton.   Nancy served on the Walton Public Library Board and also worked for the Walton Community Food Pantry.   Nancy and John became “snow birds” to Winter Haven Florida in 2000.  She loved playing golf and was best known for her cooking and baking skills.   Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life.  The great grandkids referred to her as “Grandma Great”.   She dearly loved her family.

Nancy is survived by her husband John D. Gaylor, Walton; her children, Dennis (Joy) Gaylor, Walton; Janet (Steve) Black, Kokomo; and David (Peggy) Gaylor, Russiaville.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kara (Nate) Burrous; Leslie (Scott) Wandell; Johnny (Laura) Cardwell; Maggie Gaylor; Barret Gaylor and great grandchildren, C.J. and Jensen Burrous and Lincoln and Cooper Cardwell.  Also surviving are two sisters, Barbie (Bob) Bandy and Maggie Roberts.   She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Marie Seigfried and grandson Adam Cardwell.

A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Shiloh Lutheran Church, 404 E. Bishop Street in Walton with Rev. Sharon Walker officiating.  Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 28th at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston.  Friends may leave a condolence to her family at www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com  Memorial Contributions may be given to Shiloh Lutheran Church in Nancy’s honor.
