Richard K. “Rich” Lorenz, 49, of Kokomo, passed away unexpectedly Monday, November 6, 2017 at 11:26 a.m. at Community Howard Emergency Room.  He was born March 28, 1968 in Kokomo to Dale and Barbara (Scott) Lorenz.

Rich was a 1987 graduate of Maconaquah High School.  He was a mechanic for Price Auto Sales for the past twenty years.  He enjoyed traveling, seeing things for the first time, he had a passion for old abandoned buildings that most people would normally overlook, he loved to restore old things & bring them back to life, he loved antiques, photography, especially photographing old landmarks across the country, collecting cars & "toys" with his corvette being his most recent and favorite purchase. He also enjoyed NASCAR and watching his nephew laine race. & spending time with his family.

He is survived by his parents, Dale and Barbara Lorenz, Kokomo; his daughter, Brittni Lorenz & the two grandchildren she has given him, Zoey & Zayden Lorenz Kokomo and son, Jordan Lorenz & his fiancé Sarah Fleener & their unborn son that would have been his newest grandchild, Elwood;  Also surviving are his sister, Shelly (Mitchell) Hite, Amboy; niece, Kaitlyn (Andrew) Garrett, Ft. Wayne; and nephew Laine (Alyssa) Hite, Marion; and a great nephew Maverick.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

A celebration of Rich’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Pastor Greg Reed officiating.  Burial will follow at Galveston Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 1 – 3 p.m. Sunday, prior to services at the funeral home.

Rich gave the gift to life to others as a organ donor.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
