Ruth A. Wright, 90, formerly of Kokomo, went home to be with the Lord early Monday morning at her home.   She was born August 2, 1927 to Lindsay and Thelma (Neat) Holmes.    She married J.C. Wright on June 12, 1946 in Kentucky and he preceded her in death January 23, 2002.  

Ruth retired from Delco Electronics with several years service.  She attended Calvary Temple Church in Kokomo and enjoyed crochet, quilting and gardening.

Surviving family include her children, Ivanell (Gary) McDonald of Haleyville, AL and Gail (Laurie) Wright of Wawpecong, IN; grandchildren, Michele Shotts, Lisa McDonald, Kenny (Jessica) McDonald, Phillip Wright and several great grandchildren.  She is also survived by siblings, Rollin Holmes, Ray Holmes, Junior Holmes, Roger Holmes, Rachel Burton and Faye Bottoms.   She was preceded in death by her parents, husband J.C., son, Dennis Wright, grandson, Billy Wright and sister Ruby Rice.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 14th at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with her brother Rev. Junior Holmes officiating.  Burial will follow at Galveston Cemetery.  Visitation will take place from 3 – 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
