Betty Sites Obituary

Betty L. Sites, 82, of Galveston, went home to be with the Lord at 8:55 pm Saturday evening at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo.  She was born March 22, 1936 in Galveston to Cappie A. and Mildred Donahue.  She married Jack R. Sites on November 12, 1955 in Kokomo.   Jack preceded her in death on February 26, 2003.

Betty retired from Delco Electronics in Kokomo with 30 years service.  Betty loved Jesus.   She attended Chapel Hill Christian Church in Kokomo and enjoyed her small group.   She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her life long friends, Judy Ronk and Zelma Stutzman.  Betty was also a long time volunteer for WE CARE, it was a very important part of her life.  She also enjoyed spending time outside and working with her flowers.

Surviving family include her children, Rita S. (Phil) Miller, Galveston, IN; Teresa (Chris) Mehaffie, Tampa, FL; Debbie Franklin, Knoxville, TN; and daughter-in-law, Joan Sites, Walton, IN;  Also surviving are her grandchildren, Wesley and wife Ayehsa, Rachel, Eric, Aaron and wife Brooke, Andrea, and Amie and husband Erik and her great grandchildren, Poverty, Augustine, Lex and Jameson.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack, son Mick, four brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with her grandson, Pastor Wesley Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Galveston Cemetery immediately after services.   A time of visitation will be held later in the day Wednesday from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.   In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Chapel Hill Christian Church, 2600 West Alto Road, Kokomo, IN  46902.
