Dorothy L. Golden, 88, of Walton, passed away at her home, late Saturday afternoon December 2, 2017 at 4:03 p.m.   She was born August 12, 1929 in Sparta, Tennessee to Walter Franklin and Myrtle (Saylors) Green.    She married Randal Lynn Golden on November 27, 1945 and he preceded her in death February 28, 1982.

Dorothy retired from Martins and RBM/United Technologies in 1989.  She was an avid walker in her neighborhood.  She enjoyed making jam’s and jelly’s, pear honey and general baking and cooking.

Surviving family include her son, Mark R. Golden, Atlanta, GA; grandsons, Benjamin J. Golden, Nashville, IN; and Brandon M. Golden, New Orleans, LA; her great grandchildren, Hannah J. Golden, Benjamin J. Golden, Olivia Golden and Madison Golden and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Randal Lynn Golden, two sons, Benjamin R. Golden and Jerry D. Golden an infant daughter Debbie Golden, siblings, Levitte Green, Priscilla Tindle, Mae Gamble, Marie Howard, Helen Martin, Joe Frank Greene, Asie Lee Greene, Elizabeth Merritt, Walter Franklin Green Jr., and Charlotte Elrod.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Pastor Mark Foreman officiating.  Burial will follow at Ever Rest Memorial Park cemetery in Logansport.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  You may leave a message of condolence or light a candle for Dorothy’s family at www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
