Joe Hawkins Jr.

Joe Hawkins Jr., 77, of Kokomo, passed into eternity at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27th at Community Howard Hospital in Kokomo.   He was born April 15, 1940 in Missouri to Joe and Myrtle (Barns) Hawkins.

Joe retired from Millbank Manufacturing with over 22 years service.  He enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing music, repairing T.V.’s and sports.  He served as commissioner for the Kokomo Fast Pitch Softball for many years.

He is survived by his children, Russell (Maria) Hawkins, Burlington, IN; Alice Hawkins, Rochester, IN; and Bobby (Becky) Hawkins, Frankfort, IN.  He is also survived by his grandchildren Bryce Hawkins, Nicole (Eric) Watkins, and Hannah Hawkins and great grandchildren, Jaden, Jastin and Jayla Watkins, one sister, Mary Logan of Missouri and his ex-wife, Brenda Hawkins, Rochester, IN.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard Hawkins.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 3rd at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Rev. Don McDowell officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until the time of services at 2:00 pm at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association.  Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston has been entrusted with arrangements. www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
