Karen DeLon Obituary

Karen E. DeLon, 66, of Kokomo, passed away peacefully at home sounded by her loving family at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, December 24, 2019.   She was born June 9, 1953 in Logansport to William W. “Pinky” and Frances Joan (Nulf) DeMoss.  She married Steve DeLon on September 1, 1972 in Kokomo and he survives.

Karen was a 1971 graduate of Lewis Cass High School.   She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kokomo and U.A.W. Local #685.  She retired from Chrysler in 2005 with over 30 years’ service.   At Chrysler she was known as the cake lady for always making sure everyone had a birthday cake on their special day.  She loved anything Betty Boop and watching Johnny Depp.

Surviving family include her husband Steve DeLon; her children, Stephanie DeLon, Todd DeLon and Ryan DeLon all of Kokomo.  Also surviving are her grandchildren, Shelby DeLon, Cody Pelgen, Tyler DeLon, Jacob DeLon and Logan DeLon and her great grandchildren, Kya DeLon Kucholick, Lennon DeLon, Remington Neher, Ember Pelgen and Ren Pelgen.   Karen was preceded in death by her parents, brother Patrick DeMoss and two granddaughters, Shaina DeLon and Tiana DeLon.

Visitation will be held from 4 – 8 p.m. Thursday January 2, 2020 at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2020 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kokomo with Rev. Fr. Brian Dudzinski officiating.  Cremation will follow services.   Murray Weaver Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
