Mary Lou Wolf, 92, of Galveston, passed away at 3:31 pm Thursday, June 13, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. She was born February 2, 1927 in Galveston to Tom and Stella (Gushruski) Daggett. She married Howard L. “Jiggs” Wolf on November 5th1948 in Young America. He preceded her in death on October 18, 2016.
Mary Lou worked for the Galveston Post Office for 36 years, retiring as Postmaster. She was a member of NAPUS (National Association of Postmasters) and enjoyed traveling with her husband, gardening, working outside, and her grandchildren.
Surviving family include her children, Nancy (Dan) Skiles, Galveston, IN; Chris Wolf, Galveston, IN; her grandsons, Lucas (Lindsay) Skiles and Casey (Ashleigh) Skiles both of Galveston and her great grandchildren, Justice Skiles, Kale Skiles, Brody Skiles and Leighton Skiles. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jiggs, and two brothers, Don and Roger Daggett.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 17th at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Rev. John Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at Young America Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 – 6 p.m. Sunday, June 16th at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston.
