Michael J. Snook, 50, of Walton, passed away unexpectedly Monday, January 7, 2019 at Memorial Hospital in Logansport. He was born October 9, 1968 in Peru, Indiana (Grissom Air Force Base) to Wilbur and Doris (Sparks) Snook. Michael married Missy Thomas on June 22, 1996 in Gatlinburg, TN and she survives.
Michael was employed with Taylor School Corporation in Kokomo where he taught as a middle school math teacher. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, target practice and “Treasure Hunting”. Michael was very passionate about being a good father to his son and he was also very passionate about being a good teacher to his students at Taylor.
Surviving family include his wife Missy Snook, Walton; son, Jacob Snook, Walton; sister, Lori (Estel) Vandergriff, Ft. Wayne; mother and father-in-law, Rose and Tom Robertson, Kokomo; sister-in-law, Angela (Brent) Small, Greentown; nephew, Brock Small, Greentown; and his precious fur babies, Gigi, Buddy, Ruby, Oliver and Simon. Michael is also survived by many other friends and family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Chuck Williams and father-in-law, Robert Thomas.
A celebration of life will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 11that Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Rev. Bill Collins officiating. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 4 – 8 pm Friday at the funeral home prior to a time of remembering Michael.
