Sharon K. Thompson, 64, of Galveston, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, May 9, 2019 at her home. She was born March 20, 1955 in Kokomo to Darrell W. and Carmen M. (Scott) Thompson.
Sharon was a lifelong farmer. She enjoyed woodworking, painting, and her flowers. She attended Upper Deer Creek Church in Galveston and was recently baptized along with her niece at Northview Church in Carmel. She was a graduate of Lewis Cass High School and earned a degree in Interior Design from Ivy Tech State College.
Surviving family include her two sisters, Sandra Thompson and Jody (Bernie) Weber both of Galveston; her nieces Mary (Matt) Smetak, Norfolk, VA and Krista (Jeff) Marschand, Noblesville, IN; great niece Ellie Marschand and great nephew, Blake Smetak. Sharon is also survived by her aunt, Betty Weaver, cousins, Donna and Jack Cross, Chuck Sponhauer, her companion of many years, Junior Ault and special friends, Kenny Taylor, Sandy Henry, Sue Perry, and her beloved dogs, Avery and Tanner.
Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, May 17that Galveston Cemetery with Pastors John Rhodes and Mark Davis officiating. In keeping with Sharon’s wishes, no visitation is planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society in Sharon’s memory. Murray Weaver Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
