Alice Patricia (Cagle) McCarty

Alice Patricia McCarty, 76, of Winter Haven, Florida, passed away at her home Saturday, July 16, 2022.  She was born February 3, 1946, to Roy and Gladys (Easton) Cagle in Rector, Arkansas.   She married Charles R. McCarty on September 11, 1965, in Bunker Hill, Indiana and he survives.

Patty was the head cook for Maconaquah Schools for many years.  She was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Bunker Hill, and current member of Christ Community Church in Winter Haven, FL.  She was very active in her church over the years, serving as President of the American Baptist Women’s organization as well as several offices within the church.  She was a member of Miami County EMS and served as President and Secretary of the Brookhaven HOA in Winter Haven.

Surviving family include her husband, Charles McCarty of Winter Haven, FL; her children, Annette (Scott Worl) Blair of Bunker Hill; Susan (Bobby) Smith, Peru; and Rob (Devin) McCarty of Kokomo.  She is also survived by grandchildren, Lindsay Huskins, Jenna (Jared) Mongosa, Kelcie (Jake Turner) McCarty, Robert "Chris" McCarty, Jordan Smith (Delaney), Ciara Smith, Blayne Leeman, Alivia Leeman, and Jarrett Elpers.  She is also survived by six great grandchildren and one sister, Jenny Miller also of Winter Haven, Florida and several nieces and nephews.   She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Blanche and Wilma and one brother Doyle Cagle.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022, at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.   Funeral services will take place at Bennetts Switch Community Church at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022.  Memorial contributions may be made in Patty’s honor to “The Mission of Winter Haven, Florida”, 180 E.
