Anita L. (Brummett) Norris

Anita Norris, 83, a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away February 1, 2022, in Kokomo, IN. 

Anita was born in 1938 to the late Paul and Althea Brummett in New Castle, IN where she also met and married the love of her life Joe Norris whom she was married to for 64 wonderful years.  Together they had 3 children, Kathy, Kristy, and Jerry.  Anita loved spending time with her family and had a special way of lighting up the room, she was known for her quick wit and captivating storytelling.  Her grandchildren would often call on her for help in writing commercials, cheers, and posters as she was known for her creativity.  Anita cherished her relationships and had a way of quickly connecting with others.  Some of her favorite pastimes included watching jeopardy, shopping, traveling, and keeping up with all her friends and loved ones.

Surviving family include her husband Joe, children, Kathy (Norris) and husband Brett Dauenhauer; Kristy (Norris) and husband Mark Miller; and Jerry Norris.  Her grandchildren include, Erika (Brady) Sorrells, Emily (Derrick) Aaron, Devin Miller, Meagan (Matt) O’Donnell, Tiffany Miller and Ashley Norris.  She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Waylon and Cameron Aaron, Griffin and Vivian Sorrells, Hudson, Aiden and Noah O’Donnell. Surviving in-laws include, sister-in-law, Karel Brummett, and brother and sister-in-law, Phil and Carol Boone.

 She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Paul Brummett. 

Private family services will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, with Pastor Bill Collins officiating.  Burial will take place in the Galveston Cemetery.    Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston has been entrusted with arrangements. www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
