Bonnie (Turnpaugh) Carpenter, 84, of Peru, passed away early Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Blair Ridge Health Campus in Peru. Bonnie was born December 1, 1940, to Roy O. and Ida S. (Eskew) Turnpaugh. She married Charlie Krisher in 1961, and he preceded her in death April 18, 2001.
Bonnie worked for Downey Insurance in Kokomo as a Claims Manager for several years. She was a member of Onward Christian Church and always enjoyed cooking for her family.
Surviving family include her children, Tim Krisher and Carol Powlen of Peru and Kimm (Mike) Frey of Texas. She is also survived by her siblings, Bill (Karen) Turnpaugh, Tom Turnpaugh, Ronnie Turnpaugh, Larry (Rosanna) Turnpaugh, and sister Judy Brown, sister-in-law, Veronica Turnpaugh. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Dale Turnpaugh, sister in law Julia Turnpaugh, brother in law Dan Brown and brother and sister-in-law, Tub and Marlene Turnpaugh.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Joe Coffin officiating. Burial will follow in Walton IOOF Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer’s Research in her memory.
