Bradley Bowers Obituary

 

Bradley A. Bowers, 63, of Walton, passed into the arms of Jesus at 5:13 p.m. surrounded by his family, Saturday, April 25, 2020 at his home after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer.  He was born December 27, 1956 in Kokomo to the late Larry J. Bowers Sr. and Marilyn (York) Pemberton. 

Brad worked for Chrysler the past 29 years as a skilled Electrician.  He was a member of UAW Local #685 and the National Plott Hound Association.   He owned a small engine machine shop for a time and enjoyed working on engines.  Brad was an avid coon and deer hunter. He enjoyed the outdoors, looking for mushrooms and arrow heads in his spare time.  He was also a master chef and loved baking pies with his granddaughters.  He also enjoyed trips to the casino, watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune and his beloved hunting dogs, Abby, Joe Boy and Gun.

Surviving family include his companion of several years, Kim Sturgeon of Walton, his daughters, Jessica (Joe) Petty of Kokomo; and Stephanie (U.L.) Jones of Kokomo.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Shekinah, Gracelynn and Noah Petty and Skyah, Chance and Emalynn Birnell; his siblings, Joe Bowers, Rochester; Debbie Mouser, Kokomo; Rhonda (Randy) Grandstaff, Kempton and John Bowers, Kokomo; and his cousin and best friend Bill Herrell.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Lisa.

Private services will be held with burial at Galveston Cemetery with Pastor Jacob Burgei officiating.   Services will be recorded and available to view online afterwards.   A memorial visitation to be scheduled for a later date for the safety and health of everyone during the COVID-19 outbreak.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the National Plott Hound Association, Fuel Church, 2298 E.
