Callie Bookmiller Obituary

Callie L. Bookmiller, 95 of Galveston died peacefully in her sleep in the presence of family in Springfield Pennsylvania on December 9th2018.  Known in her community as simply "Grandma Callie", she was born June 28th. 1923 In Clinton County Indiana. She was the daughter of Lemuel F  “Duke” Scott and Charlotte Elliot (Lotte) Scott. Callie graduated from Forest High School and a month later, married the love of her life, "Book" (Clarence E. Bookmiller Jr) on her birthday.  While Book served in Work War II, Callie went to the factory as a "Rosie the Riveter" working in his very same department. After her children were older she worked at Delco Electronics and retired after 25 Years.

Callie belonged to The Order Of The Eastern Star and was a District Deputy. She belonged to The Knutty Knitters Club and enjoyed needlework and her flower gardens.

She is survived by her daughters, Janice Bookmiller Robertson, Janae Bookmiller Alberts, her twin boys, Tom K Bookmiller( Linda) and Tim J Bookmiller (Marilyn). Her grandchildren Laria Jackson (Jamie), Lanae Leffert (Mike), Jeff Robertson (Lisa) Marci Glavin, Mindi Cherry (Brad), Scott Alberts (Shira), Stacey Bookmiller, Marc Bookmiller (Robin), Shane Bookmiller, and Shannon Wilson( Derrick), as well as 22 Great Grandchildren and 10 Great Great Grandchildren. 

She was predeceased by her husband Book, her 4 brothers and 4 sisters as well a son in law Larry Robertson  a daughter in law, Cindy Bookmiller and grandson-in-law, Neil Glavin.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 17th at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Pastor Cole Maxwell officiating.  Burial will follow at Galveston Cemetery.  Visitation will take place from 1 – 5 p.m. Sunday, December 16th at Murray Weaver Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to WE CARE or the charity of donors choice.
