Dale E. Forgey, 92, of Galveston, passed away peacefully with his family by his side Sunday, September 7, 2025. Dale was born November 11, 1932, in Young America to Earl and Osa (Hursh) Forgey. He married Mildred “Millie” Thieke on May 27, 1955, and she preceded him in death November 17, 2013.
Dale was a lifelong farmer. He loved raising cattle on the family farm along with his son and grandchildren. He also retired from Delco with over 30 years’ service. He was a member of the Burlington Masonic Lodge and earned his 50 year pin. He was also a proud member of the NRA.
Surviving family include his daughter Susan (Carl) Perry of Galveston, his daughter-in-law, Katherine Forgey of Galveston, 5 grandchildren, Tyler Perry of Sharpsville, Seth Forgey (Madison) of Walton, Savannah Krock (Derrick), Spenser Forgey (Carly), Shelbi Forgey (Aaron) all of Galveston; his great-grandchildren, Mariah, Viktor, Hunter, Xander, Addilyn, Kendrix, Montgomery, Korbin, Zeberiah, and Kassidy. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mildred, son, Mike, sisters, Phyllis, Shirley and Donna, special friend, Joyce Pullen, and a special son, John Cox.
The highlight of his day was lunch with staff and friends at Bullshipper's Cafe. It meant so much to him to visit with everyone.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Center Community of Faith Church, 1475 E. 1125 S. Galveston, IN. 46932 with Pastor Brent Cripe. Burial will follow immediately after visitation in Center Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to the Young America Vol. Fire Dept. in Dale’s memory. Murray Weaver Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
