Danny L. Spence

Danny L. Spence, 80, of Kokomo, passed away Wednesday morning, September 7, 2022, at his home.  He was born December 30, 1941, in Kokomo to Thomas R. and Leota K. (Trulock) Spence.  He married Becky Edwards on March 30, 1965, in Huntsville, AL and she survives.

Danny was a 1960 graduate of Galveston High School.  He retired from Lucent Technology in 1990 with several years’ of service in installation.  He served his country proudly in the United States Marines.   Danny was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Kokomo and enjoyed delivering Meals On Wheels for many years in the Kokomo area.

Surviving family include his wife Becky Spence of Kokomo, his children, Jeff (Lea) Spence of Ohio and Neal Spence of Kokomo.  He is also survived by three grandchildren, Jamie, David and Jessica and one brother, Maurice (Margaret) Spence of Palmetto, FL.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of Danny’s life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church at 2 PM Monday, September 12, 2022, with Pastors Jeff Sexton and Steve Archer officiating.  Burial will follow in Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery.   Visitation will be held from 12 noon until service time at 2 PM Monday at the church.   Memorial contributions may be given to Calvary Baptist Church in Danny’s memory.   Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston has been entrusted with arrangements. www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
