Donald Mullens, 81, of Walton, passed away at 9:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Memorial Hospital in Logansport. He was born December 12, 1941, in Middletown, Ohio to Cecil and Lillie (Rogers) Mullens. He married Rebecca Unger on July 4, 1965, and she survives.
Don was a graduate of Tipton Township High School. He retired from Delco Electronics as a millwright in 2001. He was a member of the Onward Christian Church where he served as an Elder for many years. He was a 60-year member of Walton Masonic Lodge #423 and a 54 year past master. He was past worthy patron of Walton Order of the Eastern Star # 184 and Royal Center #375. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Valley, F.&A.M. of Fort Wayne, and the TIPWA tractor club in Walton. Don had a love for horses and enjoyed camping and spending time with his family. In his younger years, he coached little league and football.
Surviving family include his wife Becky Mullens of Walton; his children, Donald William (Dianne) Mullens, Washington, Iowa; Tina Marie Mullens, Galveston, IN; and Craig (Amy) Mullens of Bringhurst, IN. Surviving grandchildren are, Alex William, Samantha Kay, Chandler David, Colby Allan, Emma Grace, Jackson Philip, Jonathan Carter and Cade Andrew. He is also survived by his twin brother, Ronald Mullens of California and sister Janice Carey of Kentucky. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Mark and Al Mullens and half-brother, Trulin Mullens.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Onward Christian Church with pastors, Rod Mason and Howard Law officiating. Burial will follow in the Beach Grove Cemetery in Sharon, IN. Visitation will be held from 4 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston. Eastern Star and Masonic Rites will begin at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Onward Christian Church or the Walton Masonic Lodge in Don’s memory.
