Donald J. Schache

Donald J. Schache, 77, of Walton, passed away Friday, March 7, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo.   Don was born February 10, 1948, in Peru, Indiana to Bill and Mary (Dodds) Schache.   On October 10, 1971, in Young America, Indiana, he married Linda M. Woods and she survives.

Don served his country in the United States Navy and worked in production at Modine Manufacturing in Logansport for many years before retiring.   He shared a passion for sports with his son Josh and enjoyed fishing, coaching and grilling out with his family.

Surviving family include his wife, Linda Schache of Walton, his son Josh Schache of Auburn, and his grandchildren, Avalynn, Landry and Maddux and their mother Erica Schache.  Don is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Billy Dodds Jr. and sister Shirley Kistler.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Pastor Dan Boyd officiating.  Burial will follow at  Hopewell Cemetery at Deer Creek with Military Honors.   Visitation will be held 1 hour before services from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be sent to Kate’s Kart Inc., 10376 Leo Road, Suite A,  Ft. Wayne, IN. 46825 in Don’s memory.
