Earl Cain Obituary

Earl R. Cain, 83, of Walton, went home to be with the Lord at 4:05 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo.   He was born June 5, 1938, in Hancock County, Indiana to Roy and Doris (Fisher) Cain.  He married Judith A. Hammond on October 16, 1965, in Logansport and she survives.  

Earl retired from Exide Battery in Logansport with over 30 years’ service.  He was a member of Walton Christian Church in Walton, Indiana and enjoyed NASCAR racing, IU Basketball and watching westerns on TV. Earl and Judy helped raise their grandson, Garrett Cain.  Earl and Garrett had a very special bond.

Surviving family include his wife Judy Cain, Walton; sons, Todd R. (Bree) Cain of Logansport; and Brett (Teresa) Cain of Russiaville.  He is also survived by grandchildren, Garrett Cain, Walton; Lauren Cain and fiancée Garth Gist., Fishers; and Breanne (Matt) Walker of Big Sky, Montana; one great grandson, Jackson Walker of Big Sky, Montana; three sisters, Marlene (Dick) Jackson, FL; Peggy Graddy, FL; and Sue Mangold, Greenfield.  Earl is also survived by two brother-in-laws, Jim (Susie) Hammond, Walton; Randy (Nicki) Hammond, Kokomo; several nieces and nephews and his beloved pets, Charlie and Daisy.  He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Ron and Don Cain and Mike Michael. and mother and father-in-law, Leslie and Margaret Hammond.

A celebration of Earl’s life will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2022, with his Pastor and friend, Rev. Bill Collins officiating.  Visitation will take place prior to services from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston.  The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Dr. David Williams, Dr. Eric Tuchscherer and the nursing staff on 2nd floor at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo for their excellent care and compassion during his last few days.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston. www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
