Edward Luke Lord Jr., 72, of Walton, passed away at his home Wednesday, February 2, 2022. He was born January 4, 1950, in Lafayette, Indiana to Edward L. and Retha (Baunach) Lord.
Ed was a lifelong farmer, owning and operating Lord Seed Farms in Walton for many years. He enjoyed gardening, especially raising sweet corn, camping, and snowmobiling. He graduated from Wolcott High School and Auto Diesel Mechanics school in Nashville, TN. He also attended Onward Christian Church in Onward, Indiana.
Ed served his country in the United States Air Force.
Surviving family include his wife KaAnn Lord of Walton; his children, Brett Lord (Randy Fultman) of Dallas, TX; and Danielle (Eric) Lord-See of Galveston. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Isabella and Hunter See and siblings, Linda (Ron) Schlatter of Huntertown, IN; Susan (Chris) Wilson of Whitestown, IN and Rose (Bob) Stanfield of Sugarland, TX. He is also survived by a special sister-in-law, Cyndi (John) Dietrich. Several nieces and nephews also survive him. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Betty Chamberlain.
A memorial service will be held for Ed at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Pastor Rod Mason and Bill Isaacs officiating. A time of visitation will take place from 2 – 5 prior to services at the funeral home on Tuesday. In keeping with Ed’s wishes, cremation will take place following services.
