Frederick Pedde Obituary

Frederick Norman Pedde, 78, of Kokomo, IN, passed away on Sunday, December 27th 2020. He passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at home.

Fred was born in Benton Harbor Michigan to Norman Pedde and Geneva (Strunk) Pedde. He grew up with his brother Bob and sister Cheryl. As a teen, he loved spending his time working on cars and fishing with his uncles. He attended St. Matthew Lutheran School and graduated from the American School of Chicago Illinois. While in high school he met his beautiful Lauraine (Beaudoin) Pedde and their story began. After their first year of marriage, they started a family, complete with Tom, Michele, and finally Josh. As a family they loved fishing, spending time with one another, riding around in the station wagon, and of course his passion for trains. One of Fred’s biggest accomplishments was being a father, grandfather (papa) and great grandfather. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren in his retirement. He was always there for his family through their ups and downs, to build a shelf or deck or just to watch tv. He was a man of few words but taught them all so many life lessons.

Fred work for the S.S. Kresge Company which later became K-Mart for 35 years before retiring in 1996. After retiring from K-Mart he went to work for the Praxair Welding Gas and Supply Store in Kokomo where he worked until he retired again in 2010.

In addition to his wife Lauraine, and his children, Tom (Brenda) Pedde, Michele (Brian) Pohlman, and Josh (Laura) Pedde, Fred is survived by his sister Cheryl (Jeff) Breinling, and his aunt Annabelle Tinberg. Eight grandchildren Sara (Jay) Holder, Andrew (Rachel) Pedde, Staci (Keith) Kennedy, Autumn (Matt) Kelley, Harley (Morgan) Pohlman, Annabelle Pedde, Grayson Pedde, and Savannah Pedde and four great grandchildren Addison Holder, Zoe Holder, Parker Pedde, and Payton Pedde.  He was preceded in passing by his father Norman G. Pedde, his mother Geneva (Strunk) Pedde, and his brother Robert Pedde.
