Judith A. Stroud, 78, of Galveston, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025, at I.U. North Hospital in Carmel. She was born January 7, 1947, in Kokomo to Charles R. and Mariam (Boring) Carver. She married Robert D. Stroud on May 28, 1965, and he preceded her in death March 22, 2008.
Judy was an avid GTO enthusiast. She and her husband Bob had several classic cars over the years, and they were the catalyst that started the Walton Car Show held during the 4th of July celebration for over 30 years. They were members of several car clubs including the Pioneer Car Club and the Rebel Rousers in the local area.
Judy was passionate about raising money for Shriner’s Hospital’s for children. She organized many Cruz-in’s to help children in need of hospital care.
Surviving family include her two sons, Jason (Chastity) Stroud of Galveston and Brian (Janis) Stroud of Kokomo. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Bryant Morris, Taylor Morris, Jaden Stroud, Jaxyn Stroud and Sami Devlin. One great granddaughter Amelia Morris and brothers, Jeff Carver, Mark Carver and Rick Carver. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Bob.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2025, in the Galveston Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. In keeping with her wishes, no public visitation is planned. Pastor Sean Cooper and Pastor Paul Sutherland will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Walton Car Show in her memory. Murray Weaver Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
