Katie (Hensley) Roussel

Katie Roussel, 45, of Walton, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 11, 2023, at her home.  She was born May 9, 1978, to Paul J. Hensley and Kathy (Moss) Lybrook in Kokomo.  She married Eric D. Roussel on March 17, 2012, in Kokomo, Indiana and he survives.

Katie was a graduate of Lewis Cass High School.  She loved baby-sitting, cooking, crafting, gardening, swimming and just about anything related to family.   Her family was her life.   She was always involved with her kids’ sporting events and band.  She loved making a home for her family and cherished every minute.  She also had a love for baking and opened her own business called “Baked by Katie”.

Surviving family include her husband Eric Roussel of Walton; her children, Tyler, Matthew and Nathaniel Moss; Paige Rebecca and Claire Kathryn Roussel, and bonus Son, Ethan Stine.  She is also survived by her mother and stepfather, Kathy and Butch Lybrook; siblings, Shane and wife Nicci, Heather and husband Josh, Cody and wife Shelby, and Joe. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Katie is preceded in death by her father Paul J. Hensley and her grandparents.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 15th from 4 – 8 p.m. at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston.  Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 16th at the funeral home with Rev. Bill Collins officiating.
