Lance C. Balsbaugh, 69, of Kokomo, passed way Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Community Howard Regional Health Hospital in Kokomo. He was born June 27, 1954, in Peru, Indiana to Herbert and Donazetta (Yankee) Balsbaugh.
Lance was a graduate of Lewis Cass High School in Walton, Indiana. He later worked for Chrysler Transmission Plant in Kokomo for a brief time. He loved watching sports and playing cards. He would walk miles to enjoy coffee with friends and tell jokes. He grew up on his family’s farm in New Waverly. He lived most of his life in the city of Kokomo. He had many different jobs and lived life with all the hiccups that were thrown his way.
Surviving family include his wife Mary Balsbaugh of Kokomo; his children Ryan Balsbaugh-Butcher, Lindsay Meicham, and Jeff Payne. Surviving siblings are Deb (Bob) Lynas and Donita Conner. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Bret Conner, Bart (Katie) Conner, Deanna (Chad) McCarter, Robin (Steve) Rudd and many great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry Balsbaugh and brother-in-law, Glenn Conner. Memorial contributions may be given to the Kokomo Rescue Mission in Lance’s memory.
