Larry L. Brankle, 83, of Kokomo, passed away at 8:55 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at The Legacy at Waterford Place in Kokomo. He was born June 30, 1940, in Kokomo to Robert Glen and Hazel Veradean (Rood) Brankle. He married Garnet R. Kerby and she preceded him in death on October 9, 2007.
Larry retired from Chrysler transmission in 2001 with 41 years’ service. He loved antique tractors and cars, fishing, hunting, camping and was a “Mowing” mentor to his children and grandchildren. He was a former member of the Dodge Brothers Club and the Eagles Lodge in Kokomo.
Surviving family include his children, Ginger (Deb) Brankle, Russiaville, IN and Jerry (Jill) Brankle of Kokomo. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Ryan (Emily), Scott and Shelby (Johnny), and seven great grandchildren, Nolan, Zayden, Grayson, Benjamin, Emma, Uriah and Brady. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, wife Garnet, grandson Chase, great grandson Matthew, granddaughter-in-law Sarah and brother Michael Brankle.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at United in Faith Church, 515 S. Maple St. Galveston, Indiana with Pastor Morgan Young officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery in Kokomo. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2023, at United in Faith Church.
