Marcus L. Hunter

Marcus Lee Hunter, 65, of Peru, died Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at his home in Peru.  Marcus was born June 15, 1958, in Kokomo to Robert W. and Violet P. (Ellis) Hunter.  He married Tamra D. Harp on October 26, 1988, and she preceded him in death July 22, 2023.

Marcus retired from Chrysler with several years’ service.  He enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts, fishing, and going to his grandson’s ball games and attending their choir concerts.  He was a former member of First General Baptist Church.

Surviving family include his children, Kory (Catrina) Hunter of Kokomo, and Maranda (Anthony)  Berry of Kokomo.  He is also survived by four grandsons, Bricyn, Rylan, Triton and Corbin Berry all of Kokomo.  He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Tamra and siblings, Robert Hunter, James Hunter and Sally Abney.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Pastor Brad Swain officiating.  Visitation will be held from 2 – 4 p.m. prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
