Marilyn Darland Obituary

Marilyn L. Darland, 84, of Kokomo, went home to be with the Lord at 3:23 pm Monday, November 21, 2022.   She was born June 3, 1938, to Mearl N. and Velma K. (Dailey) Wisehart.  She married James F. Darland on December 22, 1954, in Kokomo.  James preceded her in death on August 18, 2021.

 

Marilyn retired from Delco Electronics in 1979 with 14 ½ years’ service.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Galveston and UAW Local #292.  She loved shopping and spending time with her family.

 

Surviving family include her children, Gary L. (Stella) M. Darland of Lincoln; Linda L. McCoy of Logansport; Sharon S. Smith of Kokomo; and Kelly R. (Daniel) Salinas of Kokomo.  She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. two sisters, Barb (Charlie) Wright and Shirley A. (Terry) Zieder of Kokomo also survive her.   She is preceded in death by her parents, husband James, 4 brothers, Mearl Jr., Jerry, Steve and Roger Wisehart, son-in-law, John A. McCoy and grandson, John Paul McCoy.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Galveston with Pastor Sean Cooper officiating.  Visitation will take place from 12 noon until service time at the church on Saturday.  Burial will follow services at the Galveston Cemetery.
