Mark Thomas Helms, 54, of Walton, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at his home. He was born September 16 ,1968, in Howard County to Thomas W. and Barbara J. (Lybrook) Helms.
Mark loved watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune; he could usually guess the answers to the questions before the contestants could. He was also an avid sports fan, loving I.U. basketball and would never miss a game with the Chicago Cubs. He lived and dreamed for March madness every year. He loved spending time with his family and eating, especially cookies. He was also involved with Cass County 4H. Mark was a 1988 graduate of Lewis Cass High School in Walton, Indiana.
Surviving family include his brother and sister, Dave and Tara Helms of Galveston and Challi and Dave Pullen of Walton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Levi (Krista) Pullen, Aubrey (Clayton) Freels, Ross Helms and fiancée Madison Sundsbak, Wyatt Helms, John Helms and great nephews, Knox and Harrison Pullen. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of Mark’s life will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 12:00 noon at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Pastor Bill Collins officiating. Visitation will take place immediately before services from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon. Mark will be laid to rest next to his parents in the Galveston Cemetery.
