Obituary

Mary “Ann” Poe, 92, of Kokomo, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 11:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at her home in Kokomo after a courageous battle with many health issues.  Ann was born March 17, 1931, in Kokomo to Ralph and Cordelia (Pool) Mugg.  She married Paul Poe on July 29, 1951, at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Hemlock, Indiana. Paul preceded her in death on January 3, 2008.

Ann graduated from Kokomo High School in 1949.  She was a hard worker. In her early years she started out working at K&S Department Store.  She later worked for Borden Ice Cream, Borkholder Building and retired from Coco-Cola Bottling in Kokomo with 25 years’ of service as their bookkeeper. She truly loved her Coke family.

Ann loved her family and BSCC Church family dearly.  She enjoyed jig saw puzzles, playing cards with friends, word search puzzles, traveling with her family and being around people.  She especially enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels that entertained her through the picture window to the backyard.  She loved all animals.  One of her favorite positions was President of the Taylor Band Boosters when her girls were in high school. She was very grateful and thankful for her neighbors.

Surviving family include her two daughters, Theresa (Poe) and husband Rich Blackburn of Kokomo and Pam (Poe) and husband Troy Holt of Sharpsville.  She is also survived by one sister, Phyllis (Mugg) Dye of Kokomo.  Ann was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, three sisters, Juanita Bowen, Janice Smith, Edie Robertson and one brother, Bob Mugg.
