Phyllis Rose Branch Obituary

Phyllis Rose Talbert, 94, a Baptist in faith, went to be with the Lord Friday, September 2, 2022, at 5:15 am at Century Villa Healthcare in Greentown, IN.  Phyllis was born on June 6th, 1928, to Thomas and Ethel (Garbert)Talbert in Kokomo, IN. She was one of ten children and a graduate of Kokomo High School.  She married Richard J. Branch in December of 1944 who preceded her in death in 1988.

Phyllis worked various retail jobs and was a waitress at Fitz's drive-in for ten years, but her greatest profession was her love to care for children.  She cared for various families throughout the Galveston area for many years.  It was her calling.

Phyllis was an avid reader. It was one of life's greatest pleasures for her. Reading mysteries was her favorite thing to do. 

Phyllis is survived by 6 children, Stephen Branch, Tom (Kim) Branch, Theresa Pence, Jennifer (Bill) Marschand, Melissa (Donald Hornstein) Carter and Christopher Branch.  Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, and one brother

Jerry (Kathy)Talbert.  Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Richard, eight siblings, her oldest daughter Julie Schaeffer, 3 granddaughters Angela, Holly, and Stacy, her daughter-in law Sue Branch, and 1 great grandson, Tyler.

There will be a private gravesite service, per her request, and she will be laid to rest at Galveston Cemetery.  Murray-Weaver Funeral Home, Galveston is in charge of arrangements. www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
