Obituary

Raymond F. Ruschau, 85, of Kokomo, passed away Friday, September 8, 2023, at Waterford Place Health Campus in Kokomo.   He was born October 30, 1937, in Monterey, Indiana to Francis X. and Della M. (Overmyer) Ruschau.  He married the love of his life, Carolyn Sue Newhard on August 1, 1976, in Indianapolis, and she survives.

Ray retired from Chrysler Transmission Plant in Kokomo with over 32 and a half years’ service.  He served his country in the United States Navy and was a member of UAW Local #685 in Kokomo.  He and his wife Sue attended Bible Baptist Church in Kokomo for many years.

He is survived by his wife Sue Ruschau of Kokomo and siblings, Madeline Saylor, Paul (Mary) Ruschau, Margaret (Kent) Rogers, and Dorothy “Dottie” Beall.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.   He is preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Pauline Ruschau and Marcella Winters.

Funeral services are planned for Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Pastor Keith Treadway officiating.  Burial will follow in Galveston Cemetery with Military Honors.   Visitation will take place prior to services on Tuesday from 10:00 am until service time at 11:00 am at the funeral home.   Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston has been entrusted with arrangements. www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
