Roger D. Sharp, 79, of Galveston, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born August 17, 1946, in Kokomo, Indiana to Doyle and Carrie (Black) Sharp. He married Susan M. Claxton on December 28, 1979, in Tennessee and she survives.
Roger worked for Continental Steel for many years in Kokomo he then worked for ABC Metals in Logansport, IHC Kokomo and retired after many years as assistant manager at Soupleys in Kokomo. He enjoyed fishing and shooting, but most of all he loved playing pool.
Surviving family include his wife Susan Sharp of Galveston; his brothers-in-law, Alan (Patty) Claxton of Walton and David (Heather) Claxton of Kokomo; sister-in-law, Diane (James) Upton of Logansport. He is preceded in death by his parents, half-sister Linda Burton and son Michael D. Sharp.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Rev. Bill Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Walton IOOF Cemetery. Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
