Ronnie Lee Boswell, 86, of Peru, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 12, 2023, at his home while getting ready to watch his Purdue Boilermakers play the championship game. He was born September 20, 1936, in Peru, Indiana to Casper M. and Doris (Smith) Boswell. He married Joy M. Miller on August 11, 1963, in Pipe Creek Church in Peru, Indiana and she survives.
Ronnie was a lifelong farmer. He graduated from Bunker Hill high school and was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Peru. He was an avid Purdue fan and enjoyed watching the Boilermakers play basketball on T.V. Ronnie always made time to spend with his grandkids, of whom he loved dearly.
Surviving family include his beloved wife Joy of 59 years. His sons, Jeff and wife Deanie Boswell of Angola; Jim and wife Michelle Boswell of Peru; and Jason and wife Amy Boswell of Peru. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Nicole and husband Jason, Kylie and husband Carl, Molly, Zak, Brittainy and husband William, Jacob, Jackson and Jacey. He was also proud of his three great grandchildren. Ronnie is also survived by one sister, Jayne Small of Walton. He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister Janet and brother-in-law, Tom Small.
In keeping with his wishes, funeral services will be private for his family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to, North Miami F.F.A., the Peru Athletic Dept., or Miami County Helping Hands.
