Ruth J. (Richardson) Wisler

Ruth J. Wisler, 86, of Kokomo, formerly of Walton, Indiana passed away early Monday morning, April 18, 2022, at her home in Kokomo.  She was born June 25, 1935, in Council Bluffs, Iowa to John L. and Pearl N. (Alexander) Richardson.  She married Arden N. Wisler on August 19, 1955, in Fayetteville, New York.  Arden preceded her in death on January 23, 2005. 

Ruth served her country in the United States Air Force as a medical assistant.  After serving her country, she became a schoolteacher and homemaker.   She enjoyed sewing and walking.  She was a member of the Walton American Legion Post #418.

Surviving family include her children, Dr. John A. (Sandy) Wisler of Mission Viejo, CA; Dr. Craig A. (Shanda) Wisler of Walton, IN; Jeffery C. (Melissa) Wisler of Mishawaka, IN; and Pamela S. (Larry) Mills of Carmel, IN.  Surviving grandchildren include Jackie (Andy) Callahan, Jennifer (Carl) Kling, Brock (Dana) Redmond, Brandon (Alexis) Wisler, Bradley (Mari) Wisler, Megan (Jordan) Schmidt, Michael (Brooke) Wisler, Jordan Wisler, Taylor Wisler, Mackenzie Wisler.  Surviving great grandchildren are Joey Miller, Julia Miller, Jordyn Callahan, Jillian Callahan, Elizabeth Kling, Mark Kling, Kennedy Wisler, Grant Wisler, Scarlett Schmidt, Harper Schmidt, Emma Wisler, Owen Wisler, Nora Wisler, Beckett Redmond, Georgia McFarland, Oliver Wisler.  Ruth is also survived by two sisters, Elaine Akerson of Pasco, WA and Benita Flaherty of Reno, NV.   She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Arden.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2022, at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Pastor Jeff Russell officiating.   Burial will follow in the Walton IOOF Cemetery with military honors.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Weaver Funeral Home.   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Research in Ruth’s memory. www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
