Steven P. Ballenger, 67, of Kokomo, passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 27, 2022, at St. Vincent Heart Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born May 15, 1955, in Kokomo to William R. and Lawana R. (Pickett) Ballenger. He married Kimberly Butler on September 19, 1992, in Kokomo and she survives.
Steve was a lifelong farmer. He also worked many years for Roger Crites with Telephone Cable installations at new service locations. He was an Amateur Radio Operator with the call sign, N9PWG. He enjoyed storm tracking with the local Amateur Radio Club along with his wife Kim. Steve never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to people wherever he went.
He is survived by his loving wife Kim Ballenger of Kokomo and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of Steve’s life will be held Thursday, July 7, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery in Kokomo. Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 6th also at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston. www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
