Thomas J. “Tom” Robertson, 74, of Kokomo, was welcomed home to Heaven at 1:28 a.m. Easter Sunday morning. He was born July 23, 1944 in Flora, Indiana to Paul “Gene” and Elma (Hausenfluck) Robertson. He married Kathie M. Wilson on March 11, 1967. She preceded him in death on October 26, 2003. Tom later married Donna Rose Thomas on July 16, 2007 and she survives.
Tom was a lifelong farmer in Cass county and drove a school bus for Southeastern School Corp. for many years retiring in June of 2009. He was a member of the Upper Deer Creek church, the Young America Lions Club and was part of the Young America Baptist singers for many years. Tom and Randy Beck also continued Capt. Stubby’s radio program as Beck and Robertson for several years. Tom also served his country in the United States Army.
Surviving family include his wife Rose Robertson, Kokomo; his sons, Tim Robertson, Galveston; Troy and wife Kim Robertson, Walton and Todd and wife Melissa Robertson of Walton and two step daughters. Surviving grandchildren include Alicia (Derek) Shannon, A.J. Donato, Madelynne Robertson, Tate Robertson, Kadin Robertson, Kollin Robertson and Taylor, Logan and Jordan Henry. He is also survived by two great grandchildren, Victor and Clair Shannon and two brothers, Dick (Sue) Robertson of Texas and Stanley (Vicky) Robertson of California. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Tom is preceded in death by his parents and first wife Kathie.
Funeral services and celebration of Tom’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 25th at the Upper Deer Creek Church, 5019 E. County Road 1400 S. Galveston with Pastors Mark Davis, Joe Coffin and John Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery in Young America with military honors graveside. Visitation will be held from 3 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 24that Upper Deer Creek Church. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Upper Deer Creek Church or Guardian Angel Hospice.
