William "Bill" B. Fouts

William (Bill) Brooke Fouts, 85, of Columbia Heights, MN, went home to be with the Lord at 3:23 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2020 at his daughters’ residence in Grant, MN.   Bill was born on June 24, 1935 in Upper Darby, PA to Joseph K. and Gladys A. (Brooke) Fouts.   He married Janet Lee Berkey on June 3, 1956 in the Grace Brethren Church in Flora, Indiana and she survives.

Bill served as an Aerospace Engineer for Honeywell Aerospace division retiring in 1998 with 41 years’ service.  He graduated from Carroll High School in Flora, Indiana and Purdue University with a BA in Aeronautical Engineering.  He enjoyed time with his family, sailing, flying, scuba diving, water skiing and Jaguar cars.   He was always faithful to God and desired that others know Jesus.  He ushered in his church for many years. His favorite sayings were “Good Grief !” and “Work the Problem !”

Surviving family include his wife Janet Fouts of Columbia Heights, MN; his daughter, Dianne Fouts of Grant, MN and son, David Fouts of Deer Creek, IN.  He is also survived by grandson, Casey Fouts and wife Lindsey of Park Rapids, MN and great grandchildren, Gabriel, Cyndi and Jack.  One brother also survives, Joe Fouts of Marshfield, WI. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and “GB” Fouts of Deer Creek, IN; his inlaws, Earl and Elsie Berkey of Flora, IN and brothers-in-law, Richard Murray and Jerry Berkey.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 24th at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Pastor Harry Roselle officiating.  Burial will follow in Maple Lawn Cemetery in Flora, IN.  A time of visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m prior to services on Monday at the funeral home.
