James W. Dockerty Jr., 89, passed away at 11:10 a.m. Sunday, March 19, 2017.    He was born April 15, 1927 to James W. and Emma (Benham) Dockerty.   He married Lucy P. Emberton on October 28, 1950 and she preceded him in death on April 18, 2016.

James was a pipe fitter for 32 years.  He was a member of Local 440 Pipefitters Union.  He served his country in during WW2.   He enjoyed hunting, fishing and building.

Surviving family include his son Larry J. Dockerty, Kokomo; and daughers, Christine G. Dockerty and Lynnell K. Dockerty both of Kokomo.  Grandchildren surviving include Amy N. Dockerty, Andrea J. Dockerty and Tony Dockerty all of Kokomo and one great grandson, Devin Dockerty.  Surviving siblings include Anne Fitz, Kokomo, Jack Dockerty, Marion, and Norma Rogers, Sharpsville.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lucy, son, Mark, brothers, Marvin, Bob, Hillis, Bud and Snooks and sisters, Wilma and Patty.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with Rev. Don McDowell officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Logansport with Military Honors.  Visitation will be held from 10 am until services at 11:00 am at the funeral home.   Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston has been entrusted with arrangements. www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
